The Search & Filter – GenerateBlocks Extension allows for seamless integration between GenerateBlocks 2 and Search & Filter.
With this extension, Search & Filter will now be able to directly integrate and filter the GenerateBlocks Query block.
This includes support for Full Site Editing and archive locations.
Install + activate the extension
To get started first we need to enable the integration in our integrations screen.
Ensure you have GenerateBlocks enabled.
Then from the Integrations screen, click install extension.

The extension plugin will be automatically downloaded in the background and then enabled.
If there are any issues downloading the extension, you can download it from your account and install it manually.
Add the GenerateBlocks Query
Add a new GenerateBlocks Query block to your page and choose a layout to start with.

Once added, from the inspector sidebar ensure you set the following options:
- Set Query Type to Search & Filter Query
- Select your query from the Choose a Query dropdown.

Create a Search & Filter query
From here you can choose to Add New (if you don’t have any queries yet) or Edit and existing Search & Filter query.
In your query, ensure that location is set to dynamic and then choose GenerateBlocks from the dropdown:

Give your query a name, hit save and your query is good to go (we’d also recommend to also enable Live Search while you’re here).
There are a lot of settings to fine tune your results.
Now that you’ve connected the GenerateBlocks Query block with a Search & Filter Query we’re ready to add some fields.
